Steve St. Angelo

Steve St. Angelo, the founder of American Kaizen, has spent his lengthy career in the automotive industry as a remarkable, process-oriented leader and an innovator of the highest order. He entered the industry on his home turf of Detroit, MI, working in the cafeteria of a General Motors plant where he served food to assembly line personnel. By the time he retired 45 years later in June 2019, Steve had scaled the automotive establishment and achieved impressive managerial feats all the way up to Senior Managing Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation, simultaneously responsible for 40 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

During his final automotive appointment as Senior Managing Officer for Toyota Motor Corporation and CEO of Latin America and the Caribbean, Steve and his team soared customer loyalty from 46% to 63%, increased production by a whopping 87%, and accomplished a dramatic increase in Latin American and Caribbean market share, more than tripling Argentina’s and nearly tripling Brazil’s.

From 2019 to the present, Steve has operated as the President and CEO of American Kaizen, LLC. He and his team serve as advisors, teachers, and consultants to those who want to benefit from the belief that there is always a better way. They help others through speaking engagements, through providing lean thinking support members, and through training materials and devices. Steve and his team take great pleasure in sharing the Kaizen culture with an American twist.

Mr. St Angelo holds Associate degrees in Science and Electrical Technology, Applied Science and Industrial Administration from Henry Ford College, a BS in Computer Science and Business from Madonna University, a MS in Manufacturing Management from General Motors Institute and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at Wharton School of Business.
